The Complaint:
I had the world?s worst landlord, Samuel Craig of Craig and Company. He would not fix anything! I had a gaping hole in my wall where the air conditioning unit should be, exposed wiring where the bathroom heater should be, and numerous other small things that were just not finished. The apartment had been recently renovated because the building had been on fire. When I moved in I knew the apartment had been renovated but Sam did not tell me why. I kept getting promised they would fix everything, but they didn?t. Sam became harder and harder to track down, except for when he wanted rent money of course. After a month and a half, I contacted city code, who informed me that they had not filed a code of occupancy on the building and that Sam was leasing the building to all tenants illegally. Sam was subsequently sued by the city and all things were brought to code within two weeks. Most of the publicity around this whole ordeal caused Sam to lose tenants, because he is such a bad landlord.
