The Complaint:
My daughter and others have been repeatedly victimized and psychologically and physically abused by Ms. Dearing. She yelled at my daughter and two other girls, saying that the cheerleading squad would be better off without them. She refused to help one of these girls who was lying on the ground injured. When my daughter called home for a responsible adult to intervene, I heard Ms. Dearing in the background saying, ?mommy won't always be there for you because she has one foot in the grave.? I drove to the school with the mother of the hurt girl. All of the girls were crying when we got there. Ms. Dearing walked over to me, stuck her finger in my face, and proceeded to chew me out. She refused to remove her finger despite my many pleadings. Four girls later testified that Ms. Dearing had acted dangerously, but this and the many phone calls with the principal, Ms. Beverly Oliver, the Superintendent, and others, had no effect. Ms. Dearing was promoted the following month to head coach!
